IT Administrator

Ipswich

The individual will work as part of the IT Asset and Vendor Management team which is be responsible for all sourcing and procurement activities underpinning the IT services and projects units.


This is a hands-on administrator role that will support the wider team with a variety of activities required to correctly manage vendor due diligence, purchasing and allocation of licenses. The position requires a positive mindset with a desire to learn,develop and ability to take responsibility.

This is an Office based role with requirement to attend office.

  • Ensure accurate compliance of software, responding to both vendor and internal audits within expected timelines
  • Do re-harvesting and appropriate procurement of licenses to ensure not only compliance but cost efficiency
  • Administer the tools and technologies as required to support recording of license entitlement and re-harvesting
  • Respond to queries on entitlement, process and governance via the centralized mailbox
  • Govern, adhere, and support the processes for SAM
  • Maintain Configuration Items naming conventions, identification standards for object types, environment, processes, etc
  • Management of Software Asset system and its data, ensuring housekeeping and maintenance is undertaken
  • Plan and organise own workload whether as part of day to day activities or when involved in project work or renewals
  • Deliver the administrative function of software asset management service across the business ensuring a high quality, timely and consistent service
  • Reactive and proactive IT service provision with others to deliver an excellent stakeholder experience for users of software procurement service
  • Implement and monitor protocols, procedures, processes, and regulations as part of software asset management
  • Carry out more in-depth investigations, searches and research information and data to identify trends and patterns in the software procurement service
  • Support the capture of business requirements from users and work with business to translate these into recommendations for future service provision as part of continual service improvement and future licencing provision
